Even when loaded, our 2-wheel-loader is very short because the load can be placed above the main axle. This allows the counterweight to be retracted.
When the 2-Wheel-Loader picks up the load, the counterweight must be moved to the rear.
The width of our first prototype will be 1.2 meters. This equals the width of a pallet. The prototype weighs 1.6 tons and can transport a load of 1.6 tons.
So far, stability has been created by having enough mass and being oversized. We want to develop an electronic control system that moves the counterweight so that the center of gravity is always above the main axle.
State of the art: Depending on the use case, the center of gravity is between the two axles. The axle load is distributed as shown, which means that two heavy-duty axles are required.
2-Wheel-Loader: The center of gravity is always over the main axle, where the entire axle load is permanently located and offers full traction. The auxiliary wheel on the counterweight only has a small load, so there is a buffer against falling over.

The design allows a smaller 'reach' to be created, which generates more force at the cutting edge of the shovel. Increased vertical break-off force is given by the short lever arm between the front wheels and the shovel. This is to compensate for the lower weight of the 2-wheel-loader.

Monotonous work processes such as loading asphalt mixing plants or gravel pits can be ideally automated with the concept. Due to its advantages, this concept favors such an automation. Work processes will have to change in the future because of the shortage of skilled workers.
Farming with a tool carrier, which takes over the work of a farm loader. Especially in barns with little space, it is an advantage to be able to turn on the spot. The concept maintains ceiling loads and protects the subsurface.
The low empty weight, the short design and the maneuverability allow the concept to be ideal for indoor use. High masses can be transported while the overall weight remains relatively low. In this way, ceiling loads can be maintained, while the short design also enables the use of elevators.
The largest German construction companies see great potential in our concept. According to them, there can both be used, remote controlled applications and autonomous operating applications.
